Microfilm at the Library

LaPorte County Enlistment Records of Soldiers, 1919-1932 – Includes surname index. Three microfilm readers are available for free public use in the Reference Department. Please ask at the Reference Desk if you have any questions. Copies are $0.15 a page. Also available through FamilySearch.

LaPorte County Soldier’s Discharge Records, 1865-1898 – Contains a record of honorable discharges from U.S. military service, showing dates of enlistment, discharge, and recording; name, age, rank, color, address, and service record of veterans; physical condition when discharged; marital status; etc. Also available through FamilySearch.
