Locate naturalization records on microfilm
Pre-1907 naturalization records are usually held by the county court in which naturalization proceedings were held. The library owns indexes for many of these records.
You can find digitized microfilm images of the original La Porte County records (1854-1939) through FamilySearch. To access the images, you may need to access the website from within Michigan City Public Library, another FamilySearch Affiliate Library, or a Family History Center. A free FamilySearch account is required. You can view the images by clicking on the camera icon under format:
