Writing Out Loud: Author Jaimy Gordon

Writing Out Loud, the library’s premiere author series, returns in September with Jaimy Gordon, author of the National Book Award winner Lord of Misrule.
Jaimy was born in Baltimore. She graduated from Antioch College, received an MA in English from Brown University, and earned a Doctor of Arts in Creative Writing, also from Brown. She currently lives in Kalamazoo, Michigan, where she previously taught in the MFA and PhD program of Western Michigan University. Her fourth novel, Lord of Misrule, published by McPherson & Co., won the 2010 National Book Award for Fiction. Her literary works have been recognized and highlighted at Michigan State University in their Michigan Writers Series. She is also the author of the underground fantasy classic Shamp of the City-Solo.
The Friends of the Library will host a reception and book signing following the program. All programs are free and open to the public.
