Solar Eclipse Viewing Event

August 21, 2017 @ 11:30 am - 3:00 pm

Free
partial solar eclipse

Join us for the solar event of the year on Monday, August 21. UPDATE: All glasses are gone. Thank you for the overwhelming response!

Beginning at 11:30 am, we will have a limited number of free eclipse glasses available on a first come, first served basis. You must sign a waiver and provide identification to receive the glasses. Children under 18 years old must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. The glasses are ISO 12312-2 certified and made by American Paper Optics and Rainbow Symphony; both are NASA-approved suppliers of solar eclipse glasses. Thank you to Michiana Astronomical Society for donating the Rainbow Symphony glasses.

Do not look directly at the sun without proper eye protection! Click here to view NASA’s safety guide for viewing the eclipse.

We will also be streaming NASA’s live feed of the eclipse in the meeting room.

The partial eclipse begins in our area at 11:55 am. The maximum eclipse will occur at 1:21 pm. The partial eclipse will end at 2:44 pm.
